About us

Who is Quantum Spiral and How Is It Partnered with the National Khoisan Kingdom (NKK)?

Quantum Spiral is an Indigenous-led, compliance-driven traditional wellness ecosystem that is transforming South Africa’s plant medicines(products) industry by combining traditional Indigenous healing knowledge with modern regulatory frameworks. Its vision is to deliver safe, legal and accessible traditional medicines through a national network of up to 10,000 community-integrated wellness centres and 1,000 pharmacies. These centres form the cornerstone of a vertically integrated value chain supported by cultivation, manufacturing and distribution operations.

Quantum Spiral’s model is rooted in Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS) and is guided by five core values: compliance first, empowerment through access, community-centred impact, education over stigma and excellence in care. Its operations use a vertically integrated seed-to-sale system with strict traceability, ensuring that every product is fully compliant with the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority (SAHPRA) and culturally endorsed by traditional leadership.

At the heart of Quantum Spiral’s success is its formal equity-based partnership with the National Khoisan Kingdom (NKK), South Africa’s leading Indigenous cultural authority. The NKK, led by His Royal Majesty King Thomas Edgar Brown I, is the custodian of Khoi and San Indigenous heritage and acts as a co-owner and governance partner across the Quantum Spiral network.

The partnership is structured across three levels:

  • National Wholesaler: The Quantum Spiral National Wholesaler is co-owned by Quantum Spiral (55%) and the NKK (45%). This entity centralises product procurement, quality control and national distribution.
  • Provincial Sub-Wholesalers: Each province has a decentralised distribution hub with the same equity structure (Quantum Spiral 55%, NKK 45%).
  • Wellness Centres: Wellness centres operate under dual licensing from the NKK and SAHPRA, ensuring legal, cultural and health compliance.

The partnership creates shared objectives for legalising and structuring the traditional medicine (including cannabis) economy, empowering traditional leadership, elevating Indigenous Knowledge Systems and delivering economic upliftment at scale.

Revenue-sharing mechanisms ensure that the NKK and provincial Royal Houses receive sovereign income for reinvestment into community health, education and development. At full rollout, the partnership is projected to generate R54 million in monthly revenue for the NKK from the wholesaler alone, alongside a further R9 million in monthly profit-sharing from wellness centre operations.

This collaboration positions Quantum Spiral and the NKK as leaders in building an Indigenous-led traditional product industry in South Africa. The partnership combines cultural legitimacy, nationwide reach, regulatory compliance and scalable infrastructure, making it a powerful model for ethical, inclusive economic development.
